Kṛṣṇa Enters Mathurā: City Splendor, Devotees’ Reception, and the Washerman’s Fate
prāha naḥ sārthakaṁ janma pāvitaṁ ca kulaṁ prabho pitṛ-devarṣayo mahyaṁ tuṣṭā hy āgamanena vām
In this verse, Akrūra declares that simply by Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma’s arrival, his birth becomes successful and his family becomes sanctified—showing the purifying power of the Lord’s presence and darśana.
Akrūra sees the Lord’s visit as spiritually elevating not only himself but also his entire lineage and well-wishers; the Lord’s association is understood to satisfy and benefit ancestors (pitṛs), devas, and ṛṣis.
Make life meaningful by seeking the Lord’s presence through sincere bhakti—hearing His pastimes, chanting His names, and serving devotees—so one’s life becomes purified and purposeful like Akrūra’s experience.
