The Lord Appears to the Devas and Instructs the Truce; Mandara Is Brought for Churning
विरिञ्चो भगवान्दृष्ट्वा सह शर्वेण तां तनुम् । स्वच्छां मरकतश्यामां कञ्जगर्भारुणेक्षणाम् ॥ ३ ॥ तप्तहेमावदातेन लसत्कौशेयवाससा । प्रसन्नचारुसर्वाङ्गीं सुमुखीं सुन्दरभ्रुवम् ॥ ४ ॥ महामणिकिरीटेन केयूराभ्यां च भूषिताम् । कर्णाभरणनिर्भातकपोलश्रीमुखाम्बुजाम् ॥ ५ ॥ काञ्चीकलापवलयहारनूपुरशोभिताम् । कौस्तुभाभरणां लक्ष्मीं बिभ्रतीं वनमालिनीम् ॥ ६ ॥ सुदर्शनादिभि: स्वास्त्रैर्मूर्तिमद्भिरुपासिताम् । तुष्टाव देवप्रवर: सशर्व: पुरुषं परम् । सर्वामरगणै: साकं सर्वाङ्गैरवनिं गतै: ॥ ७ ॥
viriñco bhagavān dṛṣṭvā saha śarveṇa tāṁ tanum svacchāṁ marakata-śyāmāṁ kañja-garbhāruṇekṣaṇām
梵天はシヴァとともに、至上のプルシャの御身を拝した。水晶のように澄み、マラカタ宝石のごとく青黒く、蓮の奥のように赤みを帯びた御眼。溶けた黄金のような黄の絹衣をまとい、全身は朗らかに麗しく、微笑む蓮華の御顔と美しい眉を備える。大宝珠をちりばめた冠、腕にはケーユーラ、耳飾りの光が頬を照らし、御顔はまさに蓮。腰帯、腕輪、胸飾り、足鈴が輝き、首にはカウストゥバ宝珠、森の花輪(ヴァナマーラー)を垂れ、ラクシュミー女神が寄り添う。スダルシャナなどの神武も具現して奉仕していた。この御姿を見て、梵天・シヴァおよび諸天はただちに大地に五体投地して礼拝した。
These verses describe the Supreme Lord’s radiant form—emerald-hued, lotus-red-eyed, dressed in shining silk and gold-like brilliance—adorned with crown, earrings, ornaments, the Kaustubha jewel with Lakṣmī on His chest, and worshiped by His personified weapons like Sudarśana.
Seeing the Supreme Person directly, Brahmā and Śiva—along with all the demigods—prostrated fully, acknowledging Him as the ultimate shelter and the one worthy of supreme worship, then offered hymns in devotion.
The passage teaches humble surrender: even the greatest cosmic authorities bow to the Supreme Lord, reminding a practitioner to cultivate reverence, gratitude, and wholehearted devotion rather than pride in position or ability.
