Aditi’s Payo-vrata and Viṣṇu’s Promise to Appear as Her Son
Prelude to Vāmana
श्रीशुक उवाच एतावदुक्त्वा भगवांस्तत्रैवान्तरधीयत । अदितिर्दुर्लभं लब्ध्वा हरेर्जन्मात्मनि प्रभो: । उपाधावत् पतिं भक्त्या परया कृतकृत्यवत् ॥ २१ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca etāvad uktvā bhagavāṁs tatraivāntaradhīyata aditir durlabhaṁ labdhvā harer janmātmani prabhoḥ upādhāvat patiṁ bhaktyā parayā kṛta-kṛtyavat
シュカデーヴァ・ゴースヴァーミーは語った――このように告げ終えると、至上主はその場で姿を消された。ハリが自らの子として生まれるという稀有の恩寵を得たアディティは、成就したと感じ、最高の信愛をもって夫のもとへ赴いた。
