Deva–Asura Battle after the Nectar; Bali’s Illusions and Hari’s Intervention
te ’nyonyam abhisaṁsṛtya kṣipanto marmabhir mithaḥ āhvayanto viśanto ’gre yuyudhur dvandva-yodhinaḥ
This verse describes the battle turning into direct duels—combatants rushing close, striking at vital points, and challenging each other as they press to the forefront.
The narration emphasizes the intensity and realism of the conflict—warriors aim at vulnerable points to overpower an opponent, showing how fierce the Deva–Asura struggle became.
It reminds a seeker that conflicts intensify when ego-driven challenge takes over; a devotee should avoid needless escalation and stay aligned with dharma, seeking the Lord’s guidance rather than victory-at-any-cost.
