この一頌からなる護身・対呪（rakṣā–abhicārika）の呪詞は、「呪いからの解放」（śāpa-mocanam）を求め、敵対的な呪詛をその発し手へと跳ね返す。施呪者の力は雷電に木が打たれるように撃たれ、根元から枯れ衰えると描かれ、呪いの全面的な反転と、その支えの断絶が断言される。
