Dīpadāna-vrata (The Vow of Offering Lamps)
アグニ神は、灯明を捧げる誓戒「ディーパダーナ・ヴラタ」（Dīpadāna-vrata）を、現世の享受（bhukti）と解脱（mukti）の双方をもたらす行として説く。神殿の祠、またはバラモンの家で一年にわたり灯を供養すれば、あらゆる繁栄が授けられるという。灯明布施は比類なき功徳として称揚され、特にチャートゥルマーシャ期とカールッティカ月には、ヴィシュヌの界への到達と天上の歓楽が約束される。続いてアグニ神はラリターの譬話を語る。ヴィシュヌ寺院の灯に関わる、意図せずなされた一見些細な行為でさえ、驚くべき果報を生み、彼女は王家の福運に再生し、夫婦の繁栄も増大した。教えは報いのみならず戒めにも及び、灯を盗むことは罪として断罪され、業報として唖・鈍の生を受け、闇の地獄に堕ちると説く。さらに、感官の放縦と不義の欲（とりわけ姦通）を批判し、ハリの御名を唱え、灯を供えるといった易行へと聴き手を導く。章末では、灯明布施があらゆるヴラタの果を増幅し、この教えを聞いて受持する者は高き運命へ昇ると重ねて確言する。
