इति श्रीमहाभारते वनपर्वणि तीर्थयात्रापर्वणि लोमशतीर्थयात्रायां जामदग्न्यतेजोहानिकथने एकोनशततमो<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate vanaparvaṇi tīrthayātrāparvaṇi lomaśatīrthayātrāyāṃ jāmadagnyatejohānikathane ekonaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus ends the ninety-ninth chapter of the Vana Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the section on pilgrimage to sacred fords (Tīrtha-yātrā Parva), in the episode describing the pilgrimage narrated by Lomasha, specifically in the account concerning the diminution or loss of the spiritual splendor (tejas) associated with Jāmadagnya (Paraśurāma).
लोगश उवाच
This is a colophon marking the close of a chapter; it highlights the ethical idea that spiritual potency (tejas) is not merely innate but can diminish through circumstances and conduct, and that sacred travel and narration are framed as means of transmitting dharmic memory and reflection.
The text is concluding Adhyāya 99 of the Vana Parva’s Tīrtha-yātrā section, within Lomasha’s account of a pilgrimage, specifying that the just-finished portion concerned the story of the decline/loss of Jāmadagnya (Paraśurāma)’s tejas.
