वैदर्भी तु तथायुक्तां युवती प्रेक्ष्य वै पिता । मनसा चिन्तयामास कस्मै दद्यामिमां सुताम्,पिता विदर्भराजकुमारीको युवावस्थामें प्रविष्ट हुई देख मन-ही-मन यह विचार करने लगे कि “इस कन्याका किसके साथ विवाह करूँ”
vaidarbhī tu tathāyuktāṃ yuvatīṃ prekṣya vai pitā | manasā cintayāmāsa kasmai dadyām imāṃ sutām ||
Seeing the princess of Vidarbha now properly come of age as a young woman, her father reflected inwardly: “To whom should I give this daughter of mine in marriage?” The verse frames a king’s ethical responsibility to choose a worthy husband, balancing paternal duty, social order, and the daughter’s future welfare.
