Agastya’s request for wealth and the decision to seek resources from Ilvala
स तानुवाच तेजस्वी सत्यधर्मपरायण: । करिष्ये पितर: काम॑ व्येतु वो मानसो ज्वर:,तब सत्यधर्मपरायण तेजस्वी अगस्त्यने उनसे कहा--'पितरो! मैं आपकी इच्छा पूर्ण करूँगा। आपकी मानसिक चिन्ता दूर हो जानी चाहिये”
sa tān uvāca tejasvī satyadharmaparāyaṇaḥ | kariṣye pitaraḥ kāmaṃ vyetu vo mānaso jvaraḥ ||
Then the radiant one, steadfast in truth and dharma, addressed them: “O Fathers (ancestral spirits), I shall fulfill your desire. May the fever of anxiety in your minds be dispelled.” The statement frames duty as a moral promise—relieving the elders’ concern by committing to righteous action.
