धौम्य उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic ideal of yajña supported by generous dakṣiṇā: ritual offering is completed and ethically grounded when the officiants and recipients are properly honored, producing communal joy and religious merit.
Dhaumya reports a well-known account connected with King Nṛga’s sacrifice: Indra drinks Soma and becomes exhilarated, while the twice-born—benefiting from plentiful sacrificial gifts—rejoice, setting the scene for praise of Nṛga’s rite and its auspicious effects.
