Dhaumya said: “Dear child, in Śūparika lies the sacred altar of the great-souled sage Jamadagni. O Bhārata, there too are the delightful holy ford called Pāṣāṇa-tīrtha and another sacred spot known as Punaśnandrā.”
धौम्य उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic value of tīrtha-yātrā: remembering and visiting places sanctified by great sages (like Jamadagni) is presented as a means of reverence, purification, and alignment with righteous tradition.
Dhaumya is guiding the listener by naming specific sacred sites in Śūparika—Jamadagni’s altar and two tīrthas (Pāṣāṇa-tīrtha and Punaśnandrā)—as part of a broader itinerary or description of pilgrimage locations.
