Educational Q&A

The verse praises an ideal warrior-leader: devotion and loyalty (anurāga), practical capability (sāmarthya), inner discipline and merit (tapas), and refined mastery of arms—showing that true authority is grounded in virtue and self-control, not merely force.

Vaiśaṃpāyana describes a particular hero’s qualities to the listener, emphasizing his devotion, strength, ascetic merit, and exceptional weapon-skill, and elevates him by comparing his commanding presence to Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa).
