Vaiśampāyana said: Having learned the opinion of his brothers and of the wise divine seer Nārada, King Yudhiṣṭhira addressed Dhaumya—his priest, revered and influential like a grandsire—seeking guidance in the righteous course to follow.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A righteous ruler should not act impulsively; he should consult trusted companions and wise seers, and then approach a venerable teacher for dharmic guidance.
Yudhiṣṭhira, after learning the views of his brothers and Nārada, turns to the family priest Dhaumya—treated like a grandsire—to ask him about matters relevant to their forest life and proper conduct.
