युधिष्ठिरस्य अर्जुनप्रेषण-युक्तिवर्णनम् | Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rationale for Sending Arjuna and Request to Dhaumya
शतसाहस्रकं तीर्थ तत्रैव भरतर्षभ
śatasāhasrakaṃ tīrthaṃ tatraiva bharatarṣabha
“There is a sacred ford (tīrtha) known as Śatasāhasraka, right there, O bull among the Bharatas.”
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse reinforces the Mahābhārata’s tīrtha-yātrā ethic: sacred places are mapped as supports for dharma, where approaching a tīrtha with reverence is understood to generate purification and merit.
The speaker is directing the Bharata prince to a specific pilgrimage site, naming the tīrtha ‘Śatasāhasraka’ and indicating that it is located ‘right there,’ as part of a larger itinerary or description of holy places.
