Pulastya’s Instruction
प्रीतिं गच्छन्ति परमां स्नात्वा भरतसत्तम । श्वाविल्लोमापनयने तीर्थे भरतसत्तम,महाराज! वहाँ श्वाविल्लोमापह नामक तीर्थ है। नरव्याप्र! उसमें तीर्थपरायण हुए विद्वान ब्राह्मण स्नान करके बड़े प्रसन्न होते हैं। भरतसत्तम! श्वाविल्लोमापनयनतीर्थमें प्राणायाम (योगकी क्रिया) करनेसे श्रेष्ठ द्विज अपने रोएँ झाड़ देते हैं तथा राजेन्द्र! वे शुद्धचित्त होकर परमगतिको प्राप्त होते हैं
prītiṁ gacchanti paramāṁ snātvā bharatasattama | śvāvillomāpanayane tīrthe bharatasattama ||
Ghūlastya said: “O best of the Bharatas, by bathing there they attain the highest joy. In that sacred ford called Śvāvillomāpanayana, O foremost of the Bharatas, learned Brahmins devoted to pilgrimage bathe and become greatly delighted. And, O king, by practicing prāṇāyāma at the Śvāvillomāpanayana-tīrtha, the best of the twice-born cast off their ‘bristling hairs’ (impurities), become pure in mind, and reach the supreme goal.”
