Pulastya’s Tīrtha Enumeration: Sarasvatī, Naimiṣa, Gayā, and Associated Phalaśruti
Chapter 82

There, by bathing and drinking the water, and by beholding and worshipping Lord Rudra who is surrounded by the gods, all the sins of the bather—from birth up to the present moment—are destroyed. And here, O best of men, the blessed Damī is praised by all the gods. O tiger among men, by bathing there one attains the merit equal to that of an Aśvamedha sacrifice.
The passage emphasizes tīrtha-based purification: sincere bathing, drinking sacred water, and worshipful darśana of Rudra are presented as powerful means to remove accumulated moral impurity (pāpa) and to gain great religious merit, even comparable to an Aśvamedha.
Ghūlastya describes a sacred place where Rudra is worshipped in the presence of the gods. He praises the site’s efficacy: bathing there destroys sins from birth onward and grants the merit of a major royal sacrifice; he also notes that Damī is extolled there by all the gods.
