Such rites (like sacrifices) are attainable only for kings, or at times for certain prosperous men. But those who are short of wealth, lacking attendants and resources—solitary and without means—cannot carry out sacrificial performances. The statement underscores that ritual action depends not only on intention but also on material capacity and social support.

Educational Q&A

Ritual duties like yajña are not merely matters of desire or piety; they require adequate material means and supporting help. Therefore, the text recognizes practical limits in applying ritual dharma.

The speaker explains why sacrificial performances are typically undertaken by kings or wealthy persons: those lacking wealth, attendants, and resources cannot practically complete such rites.
