Bṛhadaśva said: Even in a cramped place, for him a very large opening—indeed an even greater space—comes into being. And for Ṛtuparṇa’s sake, many kinds of foods were sent. (The passage underscores practical care and hospitality shown to a guest, even amid constraint.)

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic conduct through practical hospitality: even when circumstances are constrained, one should create room—literally and figuratively—to serve a guest or fulfill a duty with abundance and care.

Bṛhadaśva narrates arrangements made for King Ṛtuparṇa: despite limited space, sufficient room is somehow made, and plentiful varieties of food are provided for him, emphasizing attentive provisioning for an honored person.
