Bṛhadaśva said: After a long time had passed, a Brahmin named Parṇāda returned to the city of the princess of Vidarbha (Damayantī) and spoke these words to Bhīmī (Damayantī). The verse marks the resumption of contact and communication in the Nala–Damayantī narrative, where messengers and truthful speech become instruments for restoring order and right conduct after prolonged separation and suffering.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical role of timely, truthful communication: after prolonged hardship, a messenger’s return and honest speech becomes a means to restore dharma and guide right action toward reconciliation.

Bṛhadaśva continues narrating the Nala–Damayantī episode: a Brahmin named Parṇāda returns after a long interval to Damayantī’s city and begins delivering a message to her, setting up the next developments in their story.
