अतर्पयत् सुदेवं च गोसहस््रेण पार्थिव: । प्रीतो दृष्टवैव तनयां ग्रामेण द्रविणेन च,राजा भीम अपनी पुत्रीको देखकर अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हुए। उन्होंने एक हजार गौ, एक गाँव तथा धन देकर सुदेव ब्राह्मणको संतुष्ट किया
atarpayat sudevaṃ ca gosahasreṇa pārthivaḥ | prīto dṛṣṭvaiva tanayāṃ grāmeṇa draviṇena ca ||
The king, delighted upon seeing his daughter, satisfied the brahmin Sudeva by gifting a thousand cows, along with a village and wealth. The episode highlights the ruler’s duty to honor worthy brahmins and to express gratitude and joy through righteous generosity rather than mere personal indulgence.
युदेव उवाच
A righteous ruler expresses joy and gratitude through dharmic generosity—honoring deserving brahmins and supporting social-religious order by gifts given in a spirit of satisfaction (tarpana) rather than vanity.
