जनि>यै कथयामास सैरन्ध्री रोदितीति च । ब्राह्मणेन सहागम्य तां वेद यदि मन्यसे,उसने अपनी मातासे जाकर कहा--'माँ! सैरन्ध्री एक ब्राह्मणसे मिलकर बहुत रो रही है। यदि तुम ठीक समझो तो इसका कारण जाननेकी चेष्टा करो”
jñātvā kathayāmāsa sairandhrī roditīti ca | brāhmaṇena sahāgamya tāṃ veda yadi manyase ||
Having learned of it, he went and reported: “Mother, the maid Sairandhrī is weeping greatly, having met with a brāhmaṇa. If you think it proper, try to find out the reason.” The speech reflects a careful, dharma-minded approach: before acting, one should inquire into another’s distress with discretion and compassion.
