सामान्यमेतद् द्रविणं न मिथ्यावचनं मम,तीसरा कहता था--'भाई! इस धनपर सबका समान अधिकार है, मेरी यह बात झूठी नहीं है”
sāmānyam etad draviṇaṁ na mithyāvacanaṁ mama |
Bṛhadaśva said, “This wealth is common (meant for all), and my statement is not false.” The line underscores an ethical claim: material possessions are not to be treated as exclusively one’s own when others have a rightful share, and truthfulness must accompany one’s dealings over wealth.
बृहदश्चव उवाच
Wealth should be regarded with a sense of shared entitlement and responsibility, and one must speak truthfully when asserting claims about property; ethical ownership is tied to honesty and fairness.
Bṛhadaśva, in the course of his narration, quotes or states a principle about wealth being common and insists that his assertion is not false, framing the situation in terms of rightful sharing and truthful speech.
