नलस्य बाहुकत्वेन ऋतुपर्णनगरप्रवेशः

साब्रवीद्‌ वणिज: सर्वान्‌ सार्थवाहं च तं ततः । क्व नु यास्यति सार्थोडयमेतदाख्यातुमहसि,तब दमयन्तीने उन सब व्यापारियों तथा दलके संचालकसे कहा--“आपका यह दल कहाँ जायगा? यह मुझे बताइये”

Transliteration

sābravīd vaṇijaḥ sarvān sārthavāhaṃ ca taṃ tataḥ | kva nu yāsyati sārtho 'yam etad ākhyātum arhasi ||

Translation

Bṛhadaśva said: Then she addressed all the merchants and their caravan-leader: “Where is this caravan going? You ought to tell me this.” The scene underscores prudent inquiry and the ethical need for clear communication and guidance when one is vulnerable on the road.
