दमयन्तीस्वयंवरः — देववेषधारणं, सत्यप्रार्थना, नलवरणम्

Damayantī’s Svayaṃvara: Divine Disguises, Truth-Vow, and Choosing Nala

तामस्वस्थां तदाकारां सख्यस्ता जज्ञुरिज्धितै: ततो विदर्भपतये दमयन्त्या: सखीजन:

tām asvasthāṁ tad-ākārāṁ sakhyas tā jajñur ijjhitaiḥ | tato vidarbha-pataye damayantyāḥ sakhī-janaḥ ||

Seeing her unwell and altered in appearance, her companions recognized her by the familiar signs and tokens they knew. Then Damayantī’s circle of friends informed the lord of Vidarbha, for the matter concerned his daughter and demanded immediate, responsible attention.
