Bhīmasena’s Discourse on Kāla, Resolve, and the Feasibility of Ajñātavāsa (भीमसेनस्य कालोपदेशः)
mahāpāpāni karmāṇi yāni kevala-sāhasāt | ārabhyante bhīmasena vyathante tāni bhārata ||
Yudhiṣṭhira said: “O Bhīmasena, deeds that are gravely sinful, undertaken merely on the strength of reckless daring, inevitably bring anguish. O scion of Bharata, such ventures—begun without due reflection on dharma and consequence—turn into sources of suffering.”
युधिछिर उवाच
Actions that are morally wrong and initiated from mere rash bravado (sāhasa) inevitably produce suffering; one should act with dharmic reflection rather than impulsive daring.
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Bhīma, cautioning him against undertaking perilous or sinful enterprises driven only by audacity, emphasizing that such choices bring distress and harmful consequences.
