Educational Q&A

The verse frames a moment where divine counsel asserts that ordinary social authorities—parents and teachers—cannot effectively restrain the addressee in a decisive personal matter, shifting the focus from external control to the gravity of the choice and the persuasive power of the speaker’s guidance.

Surya addresses a young woman with respectful epithets and auspicious blessing, then urges her to listen. He declares that her father, mother, and elders are not capable of stopping her regarding the matter at hand, preparing the ground for further instruction or persuasion in the surrounding passage.
