Shloka 27

गमिष्याम्यनवद्याद्धि लोके समवहास्यताम्‌ | सर्वेषां विबुधानां च वक्तव्य: स्यां तथा शुभे,निर्दोष अंगोंवाली सुन्दरी! तुमने मन्त्रद्वारा मेरा आवाहन किया है; इस दशामें उस आवाहनको व्यर्थ करके तुमसे मिले बिना ही लौट जाना मेरे लिये उचित न होगा। भीरु! यदि मैं इसी तरह लौटूँगा तो जगत्‌में मेरा उपहास होगा। शुभे! सम्पूर्ण देवताओंकी दृष्टिमें भी मुझे निन्दनीय बनना पड़ेगा

gamiṣyāmy anavadyāddhi loke samavahāsyatām | sarveṣāṁ vibudhānāṁ ca vaktavyaḥ syāṁ tathā śubhe ||

“O blameless, auspicious one! I shall not depart in a way that would make me a subject of ridicule in the world. If I were to return like this, I would be spoken of reproachfully even among all the gods.”
