Mārkaṇḍeya said: As each day passed, Sāvitrī kept counting them one by one; and the words spoken by Nārada remained constantly present in her heart. The verse highlights steadfast mindfulness—when a grave truth is known, one meets time not with forgetfulness but with vigilant remembrance and inner resolve.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse teaches unwavering awareness and moral steadiness: when one has received a serious warning or truth, dharmic strength lies in keeping it present in the heart and preparing with clarity rather than drifting into distraction.
After Nārada has spoken a decisive message about what is to come, Sāvitrī lives with that knowledge. As days pass, she counts them carefully, holding Nārada’s words constantly in her heart—signaling her readiness for the approaching crisis.
