इति श्रीमहा भारते वनपर्वणि पतिव्रतामाहात्म्यपर्वणि सावितऋयुपाख्याने चतुर्नवत्यधिकद्विशततमो<5ध्याय:

Transliteration

iti śrīmahābhārate vanaparvaṇi pativratāmāhātmyaparvaṇi sāvitrīyupākhyāne caturnavatyadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ

Translation

Thus ends the two hundred and ninety-fourth chapter in the Vana Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the section on the greatness of devoted wives, in the sub-narrative of Sāvitrī. The narration (spoken by Mārkaṇḍeya) here formally concludes this chapter, framing the ethical emphasis on steadfast marital fidelity, virtue, and dharma as exemplified in Sāvitrī’s story.
