क्रुद्धों हि कार्य सुश्रोेणि न यथावत्‌ प्रपश्यति । नाकार्य न च मर्यादां नर: क्रुद्धोडनुपश्यति,सुन्दरी! क्रोधी मनुष्य किसी कार्यको ठीक-ठीक नहीं समझ पाता। वह यह भी नहीं जानता कि मर्यादा क्‍या है (अर्थात्‌ क्या करना चाहिये) और क्‍या नहीं करना चाहिये

kruddho hi kāryaṃ suśroṇi na yathāvat prapaśyati | nākāryaṃ na ca maryādāṃ naraḥ kruddho'nupaśyati, sundarī |

When a person is seized by anger, O fair-hipped lady, he cannot see a matter as it truly is. In that state he fails to discern what ought not to be done, and he no longer perceives the bounds of proper conduct; an angry man loses sight of both restraint and right judgment.
