Sūrya’s Counsel to Karṇa on Indra’s Intended Request

Kuṇḍala–Kavaca Discourse

सागरक्रमणे मन्त्र मन्त्रयाम: परंतप । परंतप! उसकी यह बात सुनकर हमलोग तुरंत उठे और समुद्र पार करनेके विषयमें परस्पर सलाह करने लगे

sāgarakramaṇe mantra mantra-yāmaḥ parantapa | parantapa! asyāḥ kathāyāḥ śrutvā vayam-āśu utthāya samudra-pāra-karaṇe viṣaye parasparaṃ mantrayituṃ pravṛttāḥ |

Mārkaṇḍeya said: “O scorcher of foes, we took counsel about the means of crossing the ocean. O Parantapa! Hearing her words, we rose at once and began deliberating among ourselves about how to pass beyond the sea.”
