सावित्री-यमसंवादः
Sāvitrī’s Dialogue with Yama and the Restoration of Satyavān
न त्वन्यमभिगच्छेयं पुमांसं राघवादृते । इति जानीत सत्य मे क्रियतां यदनन्तरम्
na tv anyam abhigaccheyaṁ pumāṁsaṁ rāghavād ṛte | iti jānīta satya me kriyatāṁ yad anantaram ||
“But I would not approach any other man except Rāghava. Know this to be my truth; now do whatever must be done next.”
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse foregrounds satya (truthfulness) and steadfastness in one’s chosen dharma: the speaker declares an unwavering commitment—refusing any relationship with another man—and asks that subsequent action be taken in light of that truth.
In Mārkaṇḍeya’s narration, a woman (or speaker within the embedded story) states her firm resolve that she will accept no man other than Rāghava, and then invites the listeners/decision-makers to proceed with the next step based on her declared truth.
