सावित्री-यमसंवादः
Sāvitrī’s Dialogue with Yama and the Restoration of Satyavān
इति श्रीमहाभारते वनपर्वणि रामोपाख्यानपर्वणि त्रिजटाकृतसीतासान्त्वने अशीत्यधिकद्वधिशततमो<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate vanaparvaṇi rāmopākhyānaparvaṇi trijaṭākṛtasītāsāntvane aśītyadhikadvāśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Vana Parva, in the section narrating the story of Rāma, in the episode where Trijaṭā consoles Sītā, ends the two-hundred-and-eightieth chapter. This is a concluding colophon marking the close of a narrative unit that emphasizes steadfastness in adversity and the sustaining power of righteous counsel.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Even in distress, one should hold to dharma and inner steadiness; compassionate, truthful counsel (sāntvana) can sustain the afflicted and reinforce moral resolve.
This line is a colophon: it formally closes a chapter of the Rāmopākhyāna within the Vana Parva, specifically the episode describing Trijaṭā’s consoling words to Sītā, as recounted by Mārkaṇḍeya.
