Sāvitrī’s Dialogue with Yama and the Restoration of Satyavān
हेममाली ततो वाली तारां ताराधिपाननाम् | प्रोवाच वचन॑ वाग्मी तां वानरपति: पति:,तब सुवर्णमालासे विभूषित तारापति वानरराज वाली, जो बातचीत करनेमें कुशल था, अपनी चन्द्रमुखी पत्नी तारासे इस प्रकार बोला--
hemamālī tato vālī tārāṃ tārādhipānanām | provāca vacanaṃ vāgmī tāṃ vānarapatiḥ patiḥ ||
Then Vāli, adorned with a golden garland, the eloquent lord of the monkeys, addressed his wife Tārā—renowned like the moon among women—and spoke to her in measured words. The scene frames a domestic counsel within royal duty, where a powerful ruler turns to wise companionship before decisive action.
