Draupadī’s Lament and the Question of Kṣatriya Forbearance

na hi kvacit kṣamā-kālo vidyate ’dya kurūn prati; tejasas cāgate kāle teja utsraṣṭum arhasi

There is no occasion now for forbearance toward the Kurus. The time for the display of power has arrived; therefore you ought to unleash your splendor against them. Ethically, the speaker frames restraint as appropriate only when it serves dharma; when injustice has ripened and correction is due, rightful strength must be applied without hesitation.
