Śrī Kṛṣṇa said: “O sons of Kuntī! Knowing that the exceedingly wrathful sage Durvāsā was bringing danger upon you, Draupadī remembered me; therefore I have come here at once. Now you need not fear Durvāsā in the least—frightened by your spiritual radiance, he has already fled. Those who are ever steadfast in dharma do not sink into distress at any time. Now I take leave of you; I shall depart for Dvārakā. May abiding welfare be yours.”
The verse teaches that steadfastness in dharma brings protection: those who remain constant in righteous conduct do not ultimately collapse into distress. It also highlights the power of devoted remembrance (smaraṇa) and the assurance that divine support arrives when dharma is upheld.
After Draupadī remembers Kṛṣṇa in a moment of peril caused by the arrival of the irascible sage Durvāsā, Kṛṣṇa comes immediately. He reassures the Pāṇḍavas that Durvāsā has already fled, intimidated by their tejas, and then takes leave to return to Dvārakā, blessing them with continued welfare.
