Jayadratha Restrained, Shamed, and Released
rocate me vacaḥ kṛtsnaṃ brāhmaṇānāṃ na saṃśayaḥ | rocate yadi yuṣmākaṃ tasmāt prabrūta mā ciram ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “All that these brāhmaṇas have spoken pleases me entirely—of this there is no doubt. If it pleases you as well, then declare your considered opinion without delay.”
The verse highlights ethical deliberation: when counsel from learned brāhmaṇas appears sound, one should acknowledge it clearly and invite timely, collective assent rather than prolonging indecision.
Vaiśaṃpāyana reports a moment of consultation: the speaker expresses full approval of the brāhmaṇas’ advice and urges the others to state their agreement (or view) promptly so a decision can be made.
