Vaiśampāyana said: Having received leave from the wise son of Pāṇḍu, the Gandharvas—led by Citraratha (Citrasena) and accompanied by the Apsarases—departed from that place in gladness. The scene underscores courteous restraint and proper conduct: even powerful celestial beings act within the bounds of permission and respectful leave-taking.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dhārmic decorum: even exalted beings act with propriety—seeking and receiving permission, then departing respectfully. Wisdom in leadership is shown through measured consent and orderly closure of an encounter.
After being granted leave by the wise Pāṇḍava (Yudhiṣṭhira), Citrasena/Citraratha and the other Gandharvas, accompanied by Apsarases, happily depart from the place, marking the end of that episode.
