स्कन्द उवाच मातरो हि भवत्यो मे सुतो वो5हमनिन्दिता: । यद्वापीच्छत तत् सर्व सम्भविष्यति वस्तथा,स्कन्द बोले--वन्दनीय सतियो! आपलोग मेरी माताएँ हैं और मैं आप सबका पुत्र हूँ। इसके सिवा यदि आप लोगोंकी और कोई इच्छा हो तो वह भी पूर्ण हो जायगी
Skanda uvāca: mātarō hi bhavatyō me suto vo ’ham aninditāḥ | yad vāpy īcchata tat sarvaṃ sambhaviṣyati vaḥ tathā ||
Skanda said: “O blameless and venerable ladies, you are truly my mothers, and I am your son. Moreover, whatever else you may desire—every such wish shall likewise be fulfilled for you.”
स्कन्द उवाच
The verse emphasizes reverence toward motherhood and the ethical ideal of honoring those who nurture and protect; Skanda affirms a filial bond and promises to fulfill rightful desires, modeling gratitude and benevolent guardianship.
Skanda addresses a group of revered women as his mothers, declares himself their son, and grants them assurance that any further wishes they hold will be accomplished.
