चित्रसेनगन्धर्वैः कौरवसंनिपातः

Citrasena and the Kaurava engagement

स्कन्द उवाच शधि त्वमेव त्रैलोेक्यमव्यग्रो विजये रत: । अहं ते किड्कर: शक्र न ममेन्द्रत्वमीप्सितम्‌,स्कन्द बोले--इन्द्रदेव! आप ही स्वस्थचित्त होकर तीनों लोकोंका शासन कीजिये और विजयप्राप्तिके कार्यमें संलग्न रहिये। मैं तो आपका सेवक हूँ। मुझे इन्द्र बननेकी इच्छा नहीं है

Skanda uvāca—śādhi tvam eva trailokyam avyagraḥ vijaye rataḥ | ahaṃ te kiṅkaraḥ śakra na mamendratvam īpsitam ||

Skanda said: “You alone should govern the three worlds, O Śakra, with an undistracted mind, devoted to the work of victory. I am your servant; I do not desire the sovereignty of Indra.”
