Duryodhana’s Departure toward Dvaītavana; Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Caution and Śakuni’s Assurance

Mārkaṇḍeya said: The gods, abandoning Indra the wielder of the thunderbolt, then attained peace. When he was thus forsaken by the gods, Śakra (Indra) hurled his thunderbolt at Skanda. The episode underscores a moral tension: power used in anger isolates its wielder, while refuge sought in the truly protective and righteous brings calm and safety.
