Draupadī and Satyabhāmā on ethical household conduct

Markandeya said: “That fierce wrath which arises even among beings who are otherwise calm—know that to be a form of Fire. He is called Manyumān, the second son of Bhānu.” The verse frames anger as a destructive, quasi-cosmic force that can erupt even in peaceful hearts, warning that such passion should be recognized and restrained rather than indulged.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Anger (manyu) is portrayed as a fierce, fire-like power that can manifest even in otherwise peaceful beings; recognizing its destructive nature is an ethical prompt toward restraint and inner discipline.
Markandeya identifies a specific cosmic personification: the dreadful wrath that appears among calm creatures is said to be a form of Agni named Manyumān, described as the second son of Bhānu.
