mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | guruṁ nivedya viprāya tau mātāpitarāv ubhau | punar eva sa dharmātmā vyādho brāhmaṇam abravīt ||

Markandeya said: Having first reported to the Brahmin-teacher about both his mother and father, that righteous-minded hunter again addressed the Brahmin—continuing his instruction on the duty of serving one’s parents and the moral basis of his own way of life.
