Skanda-janma: Śivā/Svāhā, Agni, and the Manifestation of Guha
Mahābhārata 3.214
देवो यः संस्थितस्तस्मिन्नब्बिन्दुरिव पुष्करे | क्षेत्रज् तं विजानीहि नित्यं योगजितात्मकम्,जैसे कमलके पत्तेपर पड़ी हुई जलकी बूँद निर्लिप्त होती है, उसी प्रकार ये आत्मदेव कलात्मक शरीरमें असंगभावसे स्थित हैं। वे ही क्षेत्रज्ञ हैं, आप उन्हें जानिये। वे योगसे अपने मन और बुद्धिपर अधिकार प्राप्त करनेवाले तथा नित्य हैं
devo yaḥ saṁsthitas tasminn abbindur iva puṣkare | kṣetrajñaṁ taṁ vijānīhi nityaṁ yogajitātmakam ||
Know that indwelling divine Self—abiding within the body yet untouched—like a drop of water resting on a lotus leaf. That Self is the Knower of the Field (kṣetrajña): eternal, and one who has mastered the inner instrument through yoga, holding mind and intellect under control. The teaching urges discernment between the body and the witnessing Self, grounding ethical life in inner detachment rather than mere outward action.
