पञ्चवर्णोत्पत्तिः — The Origin of the Five-Colored Fiery Being and Ritual-Disruptor Lineages
योड्यमिच्छेद् यथा काम त॑ तं कामं स आप्नुयात्
yoḍyam icched yathā kāmaṃ taṃ taṃ kāmaṃ sa āpnuyāt
If a person desires to pursue any undertaking according to his wish, then he attains that very object of desire. (The hunter implies that intention and chosen effort shape one’s outcomes, and that desire, when directed into action, bears its corresponding fruit.)
व्याध उवाच
Desire, when translated into a chosen undertaking, tends to yield its corresponding result; one’s aims and intentions shape the fruits one reaches, underscoring moral causality and responsibility.
The hunter (Vyādha) continues instructing his listener, presenting a general principle about how a person’s chosen pursuit—guided by desire—leads to the attainment of that desired end, as part of a broader ethical discourse.
