जयेत्‌ कदर्य दानेन सत्येनानृतवादिनम्‌ | क्षमया क्रूरकर्माण- मसाधुं साधुना जयेत्‌,“नीच प्रकृतिवाले मनुष्यको दान देकर वशमें करे। असत्यवादीको सत्य भाषणसे जीते। क्रूरको क्षमासे और दुष्टको उत्तम व्यवहारसे अपने वशमें करे

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | jayet kadarya-dānena satyenānṛta-vādinam | kṣamayā krūra-karmāṇam asādhuṃ sādhunā jayet |

Translation

Vaiśampāyana said: One should win over a miser by giving, and conquer a speaker of falsehood by speaking truth. One should overcome the cruel by forbearance, and bring the wicked under control through the conduct of the good.
