Mārkaṇḍeya said: “The people who dwell in this world will follow that very conduct and character as their model. Thus, when in the Kṛta (Satya) age the bands of robbers are destroyed and the Brahmins are protected, the world will become secure and auspicious.”

Educational Q&A

Public welfare (kṣema) arises when society imitates exemplary character (śīla), lawlessness is checked, and the guardians of dharma—here represented by vipras—are protected; ethical models and social protection together sustain a harmonious age.

Mārkaṇḍeya describes a future (or ideal) condition of the world: people will emulate a certain noble conduct, and in the Kṛta/Satya age, with the elimination of robber-bands and the safeguarding of Brahmins, the world becomes peaceful and auspicious.
