Indradyumna Upākhyāna: On Kīrti, Smṛti, and Restoration

हि आय न () हि २ 7 नवर्त्याधेकशततमो<्ध्याय: युगान्तकालिक कलियुगके समयके बर्तावका तथा कल्कि- अवतारका वर्णन वैशम्पायन उवाच युधिष्ठिरस्तु कौन्तेयो मार्कण्डेयं महामुनिम्‌ । पुन: पप्रच्छ साम्राज्ये भविष्यां जगतो गतिम्‌,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! तदनन्तर कुन्तीनन्दन युधिष्ठिरने महामुनि मार्कण्डेयसे अपने साम्राज्यमें जगत्‌की भावी गतिविधिके विषयमें पुनः इस प्रकार प्रश्न किया

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: Yudhiṣṭhiras tu Kaunteyo Mārkaṇḍeyaṃ mahāmunim | punaḥ papraccha sāmrājye bhaviṣyāṃ jagato gatim ||

Vaiśampāyana said: Then Yudhiṣṭhira, the son of Kuntī, once again questioned the great sage Mārkaṇḍeya about the future course of the world in relation to his kingship—seeking to understand what lies ahead and how a ruler should face coming times.
