Sarasvatī said: “The one who, free from negligence, remains pure and constant in self-study, and who knows Brahman in the manner appropriate to his path and capacity—such a person crosses beyond the realm of the gods, reaches the further shore, and attains Brahma-loka. There, in the company of the gods, he enters into a state of harmonious, loving communion.”
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Steady svādhyāya, inner and outer purity, and freedom from pramāda (spiritual negligence) mature into true knowledge of Brahman; this knowledge is presented as leading beyond ordinary heavenly reward (Deva-loka) toward the higher goal of Brahma-loka and a state of prīti-yoga—harmonious communion grounded in realized truth.
Within Mārkaṇḍeya’s discourse, Sarasvatī is quoted as describing the fruit of disciplined sacred study and right realization: the practitioner transcends the gods’ realm and attains Brahma-loka, entering a blessed association with the immortals characterized by prīti (loving concord).
