सो&हं शापादगस्त्यस्थ ब्राह्णानवमन्य च इमामवस्थामापन्न: पश्य दैवमिदं मम,“मैं ब्राह्यणोंका अनादर करके महर्षि अगस्त्यके शापसे इस अवस्थाको प्राप्त हुआ हूँ। मेरे इस दुर्भाग्यको अपने आँखों देख लो

so ’haṁ śāpād agastyasya brāhmaṇān avamānya ca imām avasthām āpannaḥ paśya daivam idaṁ mama

“I am the one who, by the curse of the sage Agastya—having shown contempt for brāhmaṇas—has fallen into this condition. Behold with your own eyes this misfortune of mine, the working of fate upon me.”
